The more we know about animals in aquariums and zoos, the more knowledge we have when it comes to protecting wild populations. We’ve received many requests for more features in our Biomaterials module to support conservation research. We’re planning a major revamp of this module - it is even getting renamed the Research Studies module, to better reflect what it will do.

The proposed features are currently undergoing the second round of critique from the Tracks community, to make sure it meets as many needs as possible.

Some of the upgrades include approval workflow, media attachments, tasks, costs, and better storage data for samples. We’re excited to hear more great ideas from our users and then look forward to getting some great tools into their hands to support education, conservation and great animal care.
